Rinite allergica e asma (old)

Un'allergia si manifesta quando il sistema immunitario riconosce una sostanza estranea come dannosa. L'organismo risponde a una sostanza solitamente innocua (allergene) generando una reazione allergica. Esempi di allergeni sono pollini, pelo di animali, muffe e vari alimenti, tra cui latte, uova e frutta a guscio. Esistono diversi tipi di allergie (alcune stagionali, altre che durano tutto l'anno) e diversi gradi di gravità a seconda dell'individuo.
